MUSICAL THEATRE

For over a decade, Dan Ryan has been recognized as an acclaimed and award-winning music director and conductor whose work bridges opera, musical theatre, and large-scale vocal performance. He has served as music director and/or conductor for productions with Interlochen Arts Camp, White Snake Projects, Greater Worcester Opera, Boston Opera Collaborative, MassOpera, MetroWest Opera, Moonbox Productions, Merrimack Repertory Theatre, MIT, The Boston Conservatory, VOICES Boston Children’s Choir, and others. A former Co-Artistic Director of MassOpera, Ryan is known for bold, imaginative leadership, including a critically acclaimed, site-specific La traviata conceived and arranged for the historic Eustis Estate, and #SocialDistanSing, the widely celebrated mobile opera initiative that brought live performances to more than 35 Boston communities during the first year of the pandemic. His work is defined by musical rigor, theatrical clarity, and a deep commitment to opera and musical theatre as living, communal art forms.
